Free Easter Beading Pattern – how to make your own brick stitch decorative eggs
Our Free Easter Beading Pattern – how to make your own brick stitch decorative eggs is a great way to get into beading. Eggs are an obvious shape to work with for Easter crafts, symbolising new life. They’re also a fun shape to get creative with. We’ve put together several fun designs along with blank templates for you to create your own brick stitch egg designs. Or why not print the templates and get your kids, grandkids, nieces or nephews to design your eggs for you.
We’ve created 3 sizes of egg, the smallest is perfect for earrings. The middle size is great for a pendant. The largest is perfect for decorations and card embellishments. However you can use them however you’d like.
Our Easter egg designs are worked from the bottom up, using Miyuki Delica beads. The first row is created using ladder stitch or square stitch (this is personal preference, some people find one way easier than the other).
If you're new to Brick stitch we have a very helpful video showing how to get started.

Continue adding 1 row at a time in brick stitch, taking note of where the increases and decreased are. We have another mini project that shows decreasing and increasing in much more depth. You can find that here.
TIP; You may want to mark of the beads on the pattern as you go to help you keep your place.
To create the hanging loop of beads; exit out of a top corner, pick up 5 small seed beads and then go down the opposite corner bead for the loop is nice and central. Then fasten off your ends. You can use the loop to add fishhook, attach a chain or add ribbon to hang them.
It surprised me to discover that despite having created many free beading resources already we hadn't yet created one that focuses on basic Peyote Stitch....
