The time is takes to tarnish depends on many factors. Storing your jewellery when not in usein an air tight container, not exposing it to perfume or deordorant and occassionally giving it a polish with a dry soft cloth will contribute to a long life. Corrosion for brass jewellery wire isn't a problem but it will tarnish - or oxidise. Cleaning brass wire is straightforward.
