0.6mm Copper Wire - 1

Description

Our 0.6mm Copper Wire is 100% copper wire. Copper is a soft metal and this round 0.6mm diameter wire is easy to use as it is soft and kind to your fingers. As with all wire it can be hardened by simply handling it.

To harden this wire you simply just run the wire through your fingers several times. If your fingers complain (which they probably will until they've hardened themselves!) use a pair of nylon jawed pliers. We recommend these pliers if you are going to do a lot of wire work. The nylon jaws grip the wire without marking the wire. Running wire through the jaws will harden the wire making it stiffer and hold shapes much better. There are different wire work tools available to help you create unique wire jewellery. You may like to try the wire straightener?

What you can do with 0.6mm copper wire

The 0.6mm copper wire is a popular diameter to use when wire wrapping. It can still be used to wrap around another, thicker diameter for symmetry or decoration. This diameter wire is also thick enough for thinner diameters to wrap around it without distortion. Our headpins and eyepins are 0.7mm copper wire that has been hardened and plated. Using 0.6mm copper wire is an ideal diameter to make your own jewellery findings, for example, your own headpins and eyepins.

Each pack is approximately 10 metres in length. We also sell this wire in a 10 pack, for those who need a large quantity! This is part of a range of diameters we stock in copper from 0.4mm to 1.0mm.

Have a look at our full range of wire for Brass, Silver Plated, Sterling Silver, Gold Plated and Coloured Wire.

In a lot of projects, especially from the USA, the wire is label as a gauge. The 0.4mm copper craft wire we stock is also known as 26 gauge wire. Where can I find the shop?

Once you’re in Nottingham it’s quite easy to find us as we’re bright purple! Here are our top tips on getting into Nottingham City Centre or give us a call if we can help.

Things to note when visiting Nottingham city Centre. Our shop is situated in a clear zone between 10am and 4,30pm. Only buses and trams are allowed on this street between these times. There is disability on street parking just down and around the corner from us (Angel Row) or behind the Royal Centre tram stop (Wollaton Street).

We suggest using the Tram if you’re visiting Nottingham City Centre. This can be cheaper than Nottingham’s parking charges and if you are not used to Nottingham then you will also avoid the sometimes confusing road network in the city centre. There are several Tram park & rides which can make life much easier. They can be found approx. 1 mile from Jct.26 on the M1 or in Clifton if you use Jct.24 coming from the south and travelling on the A453. More info here.

There are also several car parks near us including the Euro car park at the top of our road (it is quite a tight multi storey). Or on street parking the closest of which is Wollaton Street.

Royal Centre Tram Stop: We can be found approx. 100 metres from the Royal Centre Tram Stop. Just follow the tram tracks downhill into the city centre. You will see us on the right hand side opposite the old Debenhams building.

Whilst you’re in Nottingham why not visit some of the Cities other fantastic Independent shops https://www.mailorder-beads.co.uk/news/my-20-favourite-things-to-do-in-nottingham/

How long does it take for me to receive my order?

UK orders usually arrive in the next 1-3 days depending on the postage you select. Overseas orders take 3-20 days depending on location.

Orders placed before 1pm on a week day are sent out the same day. We offer a range of delivery options including guaranteed next day. Occasionally items do get lost in the post we can re-send or refund your order 10 working days after it was sent (20 days for international items) as this is when the Royal Mail class class it as lost and allow us to claim for the loss.

What is your return and exchange policy?

We want you to be happy with your purchase, if it’s not what you wanted you are welcome to return it for a refund or exchange within 30 days but please return items in the same condition you received them.

If you return your entire order within 14 days of receiving it, we will refund the full amount debited from your card. Postage will not be refunded if only part of the order is returned or after 14 days. Please enclose either your original invoice or a copy of it.

If you have changed your mind about colour or size or just want to exchange for something else please enclose your order number and what you would like to swap for.

Unless the item is faulty you are responsible for the postage to return items to us and we’d always recommend getting a proof of postage.
